Help Timmy pay his bills after surgery

It is with fear as a parent and great concern for the young people of our community that we’re announcing our only child was a victim of gun violence. I cannot even begin to grasp any type of understanding as to why today’s youth think it is ok to tote around guns and shoot people. Timbo and two friends were assaulted a couple weeks ago by another group of boys who essentially fired multiple rounds into Tim’s car. Windows were shattered, door panels were pierced and one round struck Timmy in his left leg. The bullet entered through the thigh and exited just above the knee. Timbo’s friends rushed him to zephrhills hospital where he was then air lifted to Tampa General for emergency surgery. The bullet severed a major artery which cut blood flow to his foot. Four hours passed before he was under the knife so things were looking pretty grim for him. The surgeons somehow miraculously took a vein from his groin area and were able to use it like a conduit to reroute blood flow back through the entirety of his leg. The surgery was successful but the recovery time may be lengthy. Tim spend a two weeks in the hospital and was discharged a few days ago. He will need to go back into the hospital soon for a second surgery to close his leg back up or for a skin graft operation. Two huge slits were made on either side of his lower leg and left open because of the incredible amount of swelling. We’re doing what we can to support him mentally, emotionally, physically as well as financially. However we are stretched pretty thin already with everything budgeted down to the last dollar both personally and with our business. Essentially we are living paycheck to paycheck. We are on top of bills and current but we just don’t have a ton of extra and can’t ever get ahead. We’re not sure if organizing this for Timbo is in bad taste but we’re just not sure what else we can do to help him. Im not sure what all transpired but he’s not a bad guy and he definitely didn’t deserve to get shot. The rent on his place is coming up quick as well as car insurance and utilities. I’m sure medical bills will begin to arrive in mail box soon. We know this experience is very humbling for Timmy and any blessings that come his way will be paid forward at some point in his life. We know he’d be extremely grateful if anyone is able to help him while he is so far down on his luck feeling like his world is ending before it even had a chance to begin. Hell he just got himself set up in his rental place back in July. Once the doctors get his wounds sealed he’ll be able to really start working on his physical therapy. We’re hoping and praying he will be back to work quickly. We might have to start calling him limpy instead of Timmy. Poor kid! He definitely had Angels on scene because anyone of those rounds could have struck him or his buddies in the head.
The detectives are working on figuring out who the shooter was but are having a tough time because Tim and his friends didn’t recognize these other boys. We’ll post more information as we get it.
