Timmi Harrop Needs Our Help

Donation protected
Timmi Harrop is a friend, confidant, and supporter to many.  Known for her kind heart, artistic ways, and generous soul, she has given so much to others.  Current family circumstances  have put Timmi in a compromised financial position, and she needs some help.

Timmi, and her older sister Kerri, were born at Swedish Hospital, and raised by their mom in Bothell, WA.  Claudia, a single mother since Timmi was a year old, worked tirelessly to raise her girls alone.

She and Timmi have always had a very close and loving bond. Nearly two years ago, with health issues mounting, Claudia left her home in Ballard to live with Timmi, and her daughter Lily.  The small house they share in Shoreline is filled with art and love.

Days before this past Christmas, Claudia was diagnosed with stage 3a cancer; the sizable tumor is inoperable.  She has begun treatment: radiation five days a week, along with chemotherapy, for seven weeks.  Everyone is maintaining an optimistic outlook.

Claudia, like her daughters, is tough as nails.

A natural caregiver, Timmi has risen to the challenge of helping her mom through this battle.  She has been Claudia's medical advocate for years, and, recently,  her primary caregiver. She makes all the phone calls,  asks all the questions, waits all the hours, attends all the treatments, drives to all the procedures, and appointments, and hospital visits and pharmacies and...

You get the picture.  It all takes a lot of time, energy, patience, and money to get through it without losing your mind.  As a kindergarten teacher, Timmi is already well-versed on all of these points.

It is impossible for Timmi to maintain full-time employment for the next couple of months.  She has already used all of her paid sick leave for the year, as well as personal time. She's received great support from her workplace, but will not be eligible for Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) benefits until 2020.

There are a number of living expenses and travel costs associated with her mom's care, not to mention lost wages.  And, let's face it, as a kindergarten teacher, she's not making much to begin with. So, we want to help her the quickest and most urgent way we can: money.

Please help us provide a little cushion for our loving friend.  Any gift you are able to give will be much appreciated, and will definitely help Timmi and her family get through a very tough time.

Thank you so much for considering.
