On April 7th we lost Tim Madison.  He was a generous soul with a fun-filled heart and carpenter’s hands.  He enjoyed helping people turn their houses into homes and building and re-finishing furniture.  In the wake of his sudden departure his wife, Lesley, has been left without a provider.  Lesley is unable to work as she is beginning a long recovery from a debilitating intestinal infection that had her hospitalized just two weeks before her husband’s passing.  Her doctors have explained that her recovery will likely take nine months. 

Unfortunately, Lesley doesn’t have any assets or income to sustain her during this difficult time so she desperately needs to rely on the kindness of others.  Her sister and brother-in law, Linda and Gary, have kindly opened up their home for her to stay in while she recovers; however, she will still need assistance to pay other monthly expenses.  If you can help in any way, please do.  Even a donation that you might think is small is important as every dollar counts.  If you can donate a little now, and a little later that’s great too. 

We are setting our fundraising goal at $9,700 as we have calculated what it will take to sustain Lesley through this difficult time, help her get back on her feet when she has recovered, and move out of her sister’s house in nine months or so.  

To insure we have full transparency: Lesley’s son, Chris, will be managing the funds.  Chris has a Master’s degree in Finance and will use those skills to ensure every dollar donated goes to good use.  If you know Lesley, you know that she has been a lifelong smoker.  She has agreed to quit smoking as a sign of good faith to illustrate that all of the money donated will be used for good.
