Help Me Be Reunited With My Wife – So We Can Spend the Time We Have Left Together
One year ago, my life changed forever. I underwent a major Whipple surgery—an operation that left deep marks on my body, my mind, and my future. Since then, nothing has been the same.
Because of my health and the lack of space in a rehabilitation center, I now live in supported housing (HVO) in the Netherlands. I face each day surrounded by care, but without the one person who means everything to me: my wife.
We have been separated for more than a year.
My Story
My name is Ron. I am married to the woman I love deeply, but illness has torn us apart physically. The surgery weakened me, but the loneliness has been even harder to bear.
The most painful part of this journey is not just the disease—it is waking up every day without my wife by my side. We have not been able to hold each other, comfort each other, or simply sit together in silence for over a year. The emotional toll on both of us is immense.
Now, during Christmas and the turn of the year, the emptiness feels overwhelming.
My wish is not complicated.
I don’t ask for luxury or comfort.
I ask for something profoundly human:
To be together again.
To hold her hand.
To talk, laugh, cry.
And when the time comes, to say goodbye—not alone, but together.
What the Funds Will Be Used For
The donations will help cover:
Travel and accommodation costs so my wife can come to me
Administrative and practical expenses to allow her to stay with me temporarily
Basic living costs while we search for a small rental home in Amsterdam
Every contribution—no matter the size—brings us one step closer to being together again. Even sharing this campaign can change everything.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
Your support gives us something money cannot buy:
time, love, and dignity—together.
