Time Off From Cancer

Hello my name is Zachary Munoz. My family and I are beginning a fundraiser for a trip of a lifetime. His entire life, he has only dreamed of going to Hollywood, California; to have the opportunity to see the Hollywood Stars. His name is Paul Munoz, a 57 year old man, or as I call him, my grandfather. Nineteen months ago, my grandfather was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. It was during his first doctor appointment when he was predicted to have a year left. One could say that so far, he has beaten statistics. My grandfather has gone through chemotherapy, radiation, tried multiple trial drugs, and more chemotherapy. September 9th, he was admitted to the E.R. where two brain bleeding lesions were discovered; confirmed to be cancer. Yet another procedure had to be done, called Gamma Knife Surgery, a form of radiation. After nineteen months of constant treatment, my grandfather has continued to work and take care of his family. We have never been able to take a family trip, and we are all longing for one last opportunity to make some family memories and turn my grandfather’s dream into reality. Since my grandfather is unable to fly on a plane due to oxygen levels and air pressure changes, our family is planning a road trip to California. All eighteen years of my life, I have only known my grandfather to put others before himself. I have never met a more thoughtful, loving, caring person in my life. I look up to my grandfather every day of my life. Not only does he fulfill every aspect of the words role model, but he is my role model. For everything he has done for my family and others please help us make a dream come true for my grandfather. Anything will help, and everything will be appreciated!
