I’ve just learned that my Dad has tumors across the left side of his brain. He has been experiencing a rapid decline in his cognitive functioning over the past couple of months. He is not able to drive, read, or access his full vocabulary. His memory is beginning to fail. A friend noticed his confusion was very pronounced over the Thanksgiving holiday so he took my Dad to the hospital to have some tests run. The tumors are widespread and inoperable. His prognosis is approximately 18 months to live.

I am devastated. I haven’t seen my dad since my last visit to Montana two years ago. I have not been able to return to visit since then due to my own personal circumstances. My divorce and then subsequent extended hospital of my partner have made it difficult for me to stay afloat let alone take time away from my work or my home. I need to find a way to go visit my family and spend time with my dad. So I am asking for your help getting me there and helping me cover my bills for December/January so I can spend time with him while he still remembers me.

Anything will help. $5 is a meal while I’m traveling, $10 is gas money to the airport or the hospital, $20 makes up for a lost hour of my wages, $100 covers most of my heating bill for a month, $200 can literally buy me an extra day with my dad. It’s time I will never get back.

I cannot do this without your help. I’m only just at the point where I’m getting caught up with my finances again after my partner’s extended hospitalization last year.
