Help Aadhyalakshmi Receive a Life-Saving Treatment Before Time Runs Out

Imagine knowing that one injection could save your 10-month-old child’s life—but she must receive it before she turns two, or the chance will be gone forever. This is the heartbreaking reality for Aadhyalakshmi, a little girl in India diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a rare and fatal genetic disorder that weakens every muscle in her body, threatening her ability to move, eat, and even breathe. With each passing day, the damage SMA causes to her muscles could become irreversible.

A Chance at Life: Zolgensma Gene Therapy Aadhyalakshmi’s only hope is a groundbreaking gene therapy called Zolgensma. This one-time treatment could save her life—but it costs $1.25 million (₹10 crore), a sum her family in India could never afford on their own. Every day without this treatment puts her future in greater jeopardy.

“When I held her in my arms, I saw a promise of a beautiful life ahead. Now, each time I hold her, I feel the weight of time slipping away,” shares Suryanarayanan G, Aadhyalakshmi’s father.

What is Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA)?
SMA Type 1 is a genetic disorder caused by a mutation in the SMN1 gene, which is essential for motor neurons, the nerve cells that control muscles. Without enough SMN protein, these neurons die, leading to severe muscle weakness. Babies like Aadhyalakshmi lose basic abilities like sitting, holding their heads up, and swallowing—skills essential to life itself.

If untreated, SMA will continue to steal her abilities, and soon, her life:

She will not be able to lift her head or sit without help.
She will struggle to swallow and even breathe on her own.
But with Zolgensma, we have a chance to stop SMA’s progression and give her a future.

The Miracle She Needs – Before She Turns Two Zolgensma is a one-time gene therapy that could prevent further muscle deterioration, but it must be administered soon—before she turns two years old. The clock is ticking.

Why We Need Your Urgent Help
For Aadhyalakshmi’s family, $1.25 million is an impossible sum. But together, we can change her fate. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to her only chance for survival.

How You Can Help

Donate: Every contribution counts and will bring us closer to securing this life-saving treatment for Aadhyalakshmi.
Share: Spreading her story could connect us with others who can help. Each share brings us one step closer to saving her life.
Time is running out. Please, help us give Aadhyalakshmi the chance to live, to laugh, and to experience the joy of a full life. We’re pleading for your support—her life depends on it.

Note: This campaign has been created by Aadhyalakshmi’s mother’s cousins in the United States. As contributions are collected here, they will be directly transferred to Aadhyalakshmi’s parents in India to cover the costs of her urgent treatment. We are coordinating closely with her family to ensure that every donation supports her immediate medical needs. Thank you for helping us give Aadhyalakshmi a fighting chance.
