Time Is Running Out For Justin Simmons Education

A Mother's Love and Commitment to Her Son...

Hi! My name is Tyra Simmons and I'm fundraising to help my son, Justin Simmons to remain in College at SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) in Savannah, where he is currently studying Game Design! I'm currently receiving disability and have exhausted all of my funds and am in need of help!

From the time Justin picked up his first game controller, I knew he was destined to do great things in life! He was committed to excelling and winning at every game played! This altimately lead him to study Game Design!

I raised Justin as a single mom with the help of the many angels God placed in our paths throughout the years! He was the type of child that wouldn't ask for much and never, ever gave me any problems or had any disciplinary issues in school!

I've tried many times to mold him into the child I wanted him to be; however. It never worked. He was a unique child. He was authentically authentic in every way! He loved cross bones and skeleton head t-shirts,. Justin's favorite music is Rock, Jazz, Pop and Old school Rap! Recently, he's introduced me to Frank Sanatra music!

I really loved dressing and seeing Justin in Polo gear!! Until he  said to me one day if he had to wear Polo for his school pictures; he didn't want to take them! In my mind I'm thinking, Is he protesting?!! LOL!! That's just who is.. If he doesnt like something he would let you know in a polite way!!!

There was a time in my life when I was a thriving Realtor, until the market crashed in 2009 and 2010. After, I began to deal with Chronic Pain as a result of a Degenerative Disk Disease and could no longer work full time. As a mother, I didn't stop me from creating business on the side to help with the cost! However, there are no more funds available!

Justin has persevered through homelessness, penniless and COVID; maintaining a 3.3 GPAI would have never thought I'd be in this position not to be able to help my children in need! It's been and has been a very humbling and humiliating experience! I'm just hoping I've instilled in them the value of hard work, overcoming and persevering through the impossible!! 

As Justin grew, I encouraged him to play sports, to no avail he wasn't remotely interested! He came home one day and decided to join the Chess Club, instead!! This is who Justin was growing up!! He always somehow new what he wanted and I would do whatever possible to support him!! After that, he received AB Honor Roll, joined the Beta Club, FBLA (Future Business Leaders Of America) and was awarded for graduating in the Top 25 of his Graduating HighSchool Class!

Justin was awarded a Partial Scholarship to attend SCAD  and attends on campus in Savannah,  GA.  However,  two years prior, he visited with his older sister because I was to I'll to go! Justin feel immediately in love with SCAD! When I researched and realized it  cost $60,000 a year!! Omg!! I wasn't sure how we were going to afford this tuition!! Some hope and a prayer!! I said to my son, " God got you there",, I need you to work hard to stay!!   I will do everything in my power to keep you there!! Needless to say, after this next  quarter,  Justin will officially be a Junior after next quarter!! Wow!! I'm so proud of him! I'd like to honor my word to my son that there is nothing  I won't do to help him to get a quality education!!

Currently,  we are paying Quarter By Quarter: 
Dorm Reservation Fee has already been paid in the amount of $500.

His 1st payment of $2,932.34 ( covers classes. food, room and board) on July 30th.

The next payment is due on September 1st of $2932.34

; and last payment for the Quarter is due on  October 1st for $2932.34

Total Due: 5,864.67

Im asking for help to give my son a better education.  I've exhausted all of my funds and pray that someone will read Justin's Story and open their heart to give to keep Justin @ SCAD!! #Justin4SCAD4Justin
