Time for a New Face!!

My name is Bree and I am setting this up for a family friend, Tracy Lee Whitman Jr, affectionately known as LeeBob. LeeBob has been one of my husband’s best friends for years and I have grown exceptionally close to him and his beautiful wife, Wendy. They are part of my chosen family and I want to do anything I can to help them.

July 30, 2016 Leebob was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the maxillary sinus. What started as a small pain in his cheek, changed his life forever. He has been through multiple surgeries already to remove the cancer. He has finally reached the stage where they can begin to repair the havoc caused by the cancer and radiation.

They are going to try to rebuild his face. They will take bone from his leg to use as a base for raising his eyeball up the 1 inch it has sunk with nothing to hold it up. It should take 3 surgeries to achieve that goal. Then they can focus on his mouth. They will cut out the exposed roots and nerves in his mouth. Then maybe get some dental implants. It will be the first time in 5 years he has been able to have teeth again. It’s been nearly 5 years since he’s been able to eat solid food.

This is going to be a long and arduous process for him and his family. And expensive. Through all of this, LB and Wendy have remained unwaveringly strong and hopeful. LeeBob is rarely seen without a smile on his face and always has a joke to share. My hope is to raise enough money to take some of their burden away during this incredibly rough time to help with medical bills and living expenses over the next couple months.
