Timber needs specialized surgery
Donation protected
Timber was surrendered at 10 weeks of age with a permanent spinal injury from a backyard breeder. I was only fostering him and had no intentions of adopting him, but one year later he is still with me. Of course I got very attached and love him very much. I have owned many dogs in my life and never thought I would ask for financial assistance, but Timber is a very special case with many surprises I didn’t expect. The rescue he came from did not help me with him as promised. Looking at his videos you can see he is full of life and has lots of love to give. His wheelchair doesn’t stop him from just being a dog and he is fearless and extremely confident.
I am asking for help to cover the costs for a specialized neuter procedure and a new wheelchair.
Timber is now 16 months old and is displaying typical behavioural characteristics of a large unneutered male. It took longer than I expected to find a Veterinarian who was comfortable with Timber’s condition. In addition, one of Timber’s testicles has not dropped, so the surgery will be more invasive. I’ve found an amazing specialist who will perform the procedure but it will be more costly than a typical neuter. Neutering him will also make him more comfortable in his wheelchair and harness when he is mobile, as his testicles sometimes get pinched.
As Timber has grown to 130 pds, I’ve been through 4 different harnesses and replaced the wheels on his wheelchair twice. I’ve also had to change bolts and other parts of his wheelchair, which has become very costly.
After trial and error and lots of messy accidents I finally found the right raw food diet for Timber. Timber is incontinent so I have to keep him on raw food ( which he loves! ) and I use a lot of diapers. He keeps me busy and he is so confident and happy and I just want to give him the best life. It’s been a tough, unexpected journey with Timber but he is my boy for life!
I am also accepting any donations for the following items that Timber uses on a daily basis.
-Diapers ( Large and X-Large ) for humans works great as well as doggie diapers for dogs but any size will do including Maxi pads as I use them as liners under his cloth diapers.
-Help with boarding or taking him for a weekend once in a while as I am all alone to care for him, so that little break would be so appreciated. It’s a lot of work, but a very rewarding experience for anyone who owns or works with animals. His disability will teach you a lot as it has for me.
I invite you to follow Timber on his Instagram account (@timberspecialneeds) to see the progress he makes thanks to your generous contributions.
100% of the money will go directly towards supporting Timber’ s special needs.
Thank you for all your support and please share!
