Proverbs 11:25 A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
This is a very humbling time for our family. We rely on God for our daily provisions but we also know His angels on earth are used to watch over and bless others in their time of need. Our son in law Tim's health has been rapidly deteriorating since September 2019. It has been months of doctors’ appointments trying to find a definitive diagnosis. He has seen a Physical Therapist, Oncologist, two different Neurosurgeons and a Spinal Surgeon. He's had CT's and MRI's and a spinal tap. His CT's showed three herniation’s in his neck that are pressing on the spinal cord causing severe nerve damage and cervical canal stenosis, as well as a degeneration in his cervical region and possibly other unrelated issues.
He has suffered loss of feeling on the right side of his body, muscle degeneration and neuropathy in his right arm and he assumed they were side effects from the spinal stenosis. However, after a visit with the Neurosurgeon, the concern now is the muscle deterioration in the upper right side of his body. This type of injury normally suggests a major trauma to his body resulting in the “Brachial Plexus” injury, but there has been no such injury. His right shoulder and arm have shrunken in size and has left him with a massive indentation in his back from the deterioration of the muscles. The surgeon is currently testing Tim for other Auto Immune diseases and something called “Parsonage Turner Syndrome.”
Tim will need to have surgery soon. He's still awaiting the results of more nerve testing and the surgeon’s final decisions. Since Tim is self-employed and does remodeling jobs, this has dramatically impacted his business. His inability to work has caused an extreme financial hardship on the family. No work means No income. Tim’s business is their main source of income and he is now unable to take on any new business in the coming months ahead. Surgery and Rehab will take months, and then more time, maybe up to a year, for him to try and rebuild his business if he’s able to return to the same line of work.
This young family is facing great hardship. Not only is Tim's health a concern, but now Jenny is also facing a possible battle of her own. Her Dr. found a lump in her breast and a mammogram has been ordered as well as an ultrasound for possible ovarian cysts. With her mom's battle of breast cancer fresh on her mind, the weight of this new burden is overwhelming.
We ask first and foremost for your prayers, as we know, God is in control of ALL things, and His grace abounds. We ask for your love as this young family faces this time of testing. Their faith is strong, their eyes are focused upward, but their pain and needs are real. Trusting Jesus has always been a way of life for them and they continue to trust Him for healing and provision.
Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Thank you for allowing us to share our burden and our hearts.
