Tim Carnahan’s Battle Against Brain Cancer
Donation protected
After checking with his doctor about a persistent headache in June of 2019, Tim Carnahan and his lovely wife Lori received the devastating news that Tim had developed a brain tumor. After additional tests it was determined that the tumor was malignant, and worse than that, the type of cancer was Glioblastoma, an extremely aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer. According to his medical team, his life expectancy could be anywhere from 3 months to 18 months depending on how he responds to treatment. Needless to say Tim & Lori, our family, and friends, were all floored by the news.
Although Tim does have insurance covering some of the treatment costs, he has been unable to work since the diagnosis as emergency brain surgery followed by radiation and repeated rounds of chemotherapy treatments have taken a terrible toll on him physically and for both Tim & Lori, the mental strain has been excruciating. They have been forced to abandon their livelihoods, a business they spent 30 years building, so they could focus on fighting off cancer for as long as possible. We are thankful for every new day and the opportunity it offers Tim & Lori to appreciate their lives together while they still have time, but with medical bills piling up as treatments continue, it is a real challenge to stay upbeat and positive with the stress of making ends meet bearing down on them daily.
Many can attest to the generous nature of Tim & Lori, their positive attitudes, their enthusiasm for life and how time and again they’ve jumped in to help others when the chips are down. We are thankful for the opportunity to return the favor and help them navigate the most difficult fight of their lives.
Their friends in the fishing community have offered their time and resources to help Tim stay mentally strong and positive by taking him out for a few hours of fishing on the ocean or in the mountains during short periods in between treatments when he is physically able to do so. But, as crucial as those things are to keeping Tim in the fight, they can’t pay the medical bills.
So it is with much humility and gratitude that we ask for financial help, however big or small the donation, as Tim fights the good fight against this horrible disease. Every penny of the GoFundMe proceeds are spent on Tim’s medical bills and costs directly associated with his treatments.
If you feel compelled to share this on your social media platforms, we would greatly appreciate it!!!
