On November 9th, 2020 our lives
changed forever. Tim was rushed to Mercy hospital where he was admitted with COVID and pneumonia. In just a few days he was placed on a last resort life support option called ECMO. The ECMO machine acts as Tim’s heart and lungs by removing his blood and running it through an oxygenator before pumping it back into his body with the same force as the heart, therefore leaving him totally dependent on the machine. Tim has been on ECMO for almost two weeks and will continue this treatment for at least a few more. Once he’s released from this treatment, he’ll go through extensive physical rehabilitation in order to reach full muscle recovery. 1 out of 7 patients who receive the ECMO treatment for COVID are successful. We are so grateful Tim’s other organs are functioning properly and that his chest x-rays are showing improvement. He seems to be doing very well on the ECMO. Timmy is so strong we are not giving up the hope that he will overcome this and be reunited with his family soon. Please keep Tim and his family in your prayers as they are greatly appreciated. His wife, Jess, has spent every day/night in the hospital waiting room as she watches him fight for his life. We have created a GoFundMe for everyone who wants to help our family in this time of need.
