Tim Richie

For those that know Tim Richie, you may recognize his unwavering love and support for his family, his larger-than-life personability and his willingness to help those in need.

On February 1, 2023 our colleague and friend, Tim Richie, experienced a life-changing medical event when his Superior Mesenteric Artery (SMA) was dissected blocking blood flow to his lower GI.

Since then Tim has endured several complications following surgery to repair his artery. On March 7, 2023 Tim’s colon perforated resulting in one-third of his colon having to be resected.

Later Tim’s gallbladder perforated forming an abscess that will need further attention once he is strong enough to undergo another surgery.

Today Tim’s biggest hurdle is the malabsorption of nutrients requiring him to obtain his nutrients through IV.

Throughout this time, Tim has not been able to work. His family, wife of 22 years, Michelle, and three kids, Carissa (20 ), Colin (18 ) and Kendal (17), have consistently been by his side helping provide necessary care leaving little time for anything else.

Since Tim’s been on medical leave, his colleagues and I have been asked repeatedly for ways to support him and his family. Tim will need ongoing medical assistance and has not been able to return to work, so any support would help his family in their time of need.

For all of these reasons, we have created a gofundme account to help Tim and his family.

We’re inviting colleagues, friends and others to show their generosity and kindness to help Tim and his family during this very difficult time.
