Tim and Deann have devoted their lives to serving others without expecting anything in return but now they need your help. Tim suffered a heart attack, was care flighted to Dallas, underwent a triple bypass, an impella procedure, spent 14 days in ICU, spent 4 days in a recovery room, and had a defibrillator put in. As you can imagine, they are going to have an astronomical medical bill, especially without health insurance (Tim is a survivor of a childhood open heart surgery and because of this “preexisting” condition they can’t afford health insurance). Tim and Deann are a single income household. Deann works 40+ hours a week as a volunteer and Tim is self-employed and does not get paid unless seeing clients. Please help bless these incredible people with easing the stress of the upcoming financial situation.
Tim has faithfully served his community as a volunteer firefighter for over 30 years and as a volunteer personal trainer for Detroit High School athletics. He also served on the Detroit school board for several years. He has witnessed through ministry as a camp director at Jan-Kay Ranch and pastors at Mount Olive Baptist Church. He also spreads the word of the Lord and mends hearts through his counseling practice at Paris Counseling Center. This is truly a selfless man who loves the Lord and his community.
Here’s a breakdown of what happened:
On Wednesday, May 1st, Tim suffered a heart attack that caused a full cardiac arrest. His co workers performed CPR until EMS arrived. Tim was resusated through one shock, from a defibrillator, and was then taken to Paris Regional Medical Center. Upon evaluation, at PRMC, doctors decided he needed to be transported to Presbyterian Dallas. He was care flighted to Presby Dallas where doctors discovered he needed a triple bypass. On Thursday, May 2, Tim underwent a grueling, five hour, bypass surgery. Over the next few days medical staff closely monitored Tim in ICU however he wasn’t making much improvement. Sunday, May 5th, doctors decided Tim would undergo a second operation to place an impella in the left ventricle. This device would allow his heart to repair with minimal work load. The operation was a success and the device did its job well. Tim grew stronger each day and on May 8th they removed the impella, began waking him from sedation, and weaning him from the ventilator. Throughout the next few days he became more alert and required less and less assistance from his ventilator. On Monday, May 13th, Tim was finally able to have the feeding tube and intubation tube removed. For the first time, in almost two weeks, he was able to breath on his own and speak! Tuesday, May 14th, after two weeks in the same room, Tim WALKED out of ICU and into a recovery room. There he stayed for 4 days and continued gaining his strength back. On Thursday, May 16th, Tim underwent another procedure to have a sub-dermal defibrillator put in. This device will monitor his heart, relay information to his cardiologist, and supply a shock in the worst case. On Friday, May 17th, Tim was discharged from Presbyterian Dallas. He’s home and now the real work begins. Tim has lots of doctors appointments, physical therapy, and follow ups in the near future.
We have witnessed so many miracles throughout this whole ordeal. The entire medical staff credit his miraculous recovery to the Lord. From the surgeons who performed his operations to the nurses and technicians who stayed with him every step of the way. No one can explain his recovery except through constant prayer and divine intervention. Praise the Lord for His healing hand!
This family truly has a servant’s heart and are always willing to give, in any way they can. It is now our time to bless these wonderful people. Would you consider giving a meaningful and generous gift to help this couple get back on their feet and continue serving their community? Any donation, big or small, will greatly impact their financial burden. We appreciate all your love and support throughout this difficult time.
