Our Brother, who is also a Father, Son, Friend, Coach, and former Ref, Tim Acheson aka SLICE.
Getting that phone call, Sunday afternoon, August 30th.
"Tim is O.K., and told me to call you. He has been in a bike accident!!!
An Ambulance is on its way, but we are an hour and half away from Calgary, upper Kananaskis Lake. They will be taking him to Foothills Hospital, Trauma Unit.
It's not life threatening, but he is banged up pretty bad, I will see you there."
After four and half hours, three teams of surgeons, he is now out of surgery and recovering. He has multiple broken bones, lacerations, on both arms and one leg.
Along with the long road to recovery, one of the biggest obstacles will be the enormous costs.
Being a Canadian does not guarantee you having free Health Care.
Being Self-employed with minimal American health care insurance coverage, Tim's out of pocket costs will be extensive.
We are hoping that the costs won't be as high as posted in our campaign.
So needless to say, SLICE, as they call him, won't be throwing sauce anytime soon.
All of Tim's friends and colleagues we would appreciate and welcome any help you can provide!!
