Less than three weeks ago I talked to my normal functioning father on the phone and the only thing he complained about was some tingling in his legs. Today I sit here writing this plea of help in hopes that I might get to see that again.
Thursday April 27 - Admitted to hospital for loss of sensation in his right leg and arm. Was falling at home and knew there was something wrong.
Friday April 28 - CT scan & MRI performed. Mass in the brain was found.
Thursday May 4 - Lost the ability to walk around independently.
Friday May 5 - Tumor biopsy. Still waiting on the final results (up to two week wait), but doctors are confident that it is fatal.
Today - he is on a high dose of steroids to decrease swelling. This has improved some of his deficits, but will not help longterm.
My siblings and I are looking into alternative ways to fight this or at least make his quality of life as good as possible.
We are exploring options like:
- Essential oils (Frankensence primarily)
- Have an appointment with a Naturopathic Doctor tomorrow! (Monday May 8).
- Ketogenic diet (for which we are paying for meals to be prepared until we learn how to do it ourselves)
- Cannibis oil
