Help Tim recover from encephalitis

Help Tim and his family recover from this terrible, unprecedented medical complication!

Tim started experiencing seizures and severe memory loss at the beginning of February. For a couple weeks Tim was in and out of hospitals while his symptoms progressed without a diagnosis, leaving the whole family nervous about his condition as well as how (and if) he would recover.

As his condition worsened and the seizures became more frequent, Tim was expedited into the top neurologist at Hoag Hospital where they understood his case and admitted him into the ICU. He was diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis, a rare condition where his immune system begins attacking his own brain cells causing the brain to swell. He was lucky to have been treated so quickly and he is likely to recover, although it will take time and treatment.

In addition to all the medical bills the family will encounter, the length of recovery is unknown but he is making good progress. He will be receiving cognitive treatment, seizure medication, specialized visits to the neurologist, and needs lots of rest. It’s not likely that Tim will return back to work for some time while he regains his strength and memory. Tim, Brittany and their 3 kids could really use our help during this difficult time.
