We are reaching out on behalf of Timmy Mathisen, a US Army veteran, and an incredible son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend to many. He needs our support at this time to help with medical expenses.
On July 3rd, just a few months after returning home from serving in the Army, Timmy Mathisen (23yrs old) suffered a life changing spinal cord injury. He spent 5 weeks at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the ICU, followed by several months at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston where he began the uncertain and difficult path of healing and recovery. This includes extensive inpatient/outpatient rehab as well as ongoing care and home modifications. Currently, Timmy is continuing that rehabilitation at the West Roxbury VA Hospital, awaiting home modifications to be completed."
We are asking for your support during this challenging time. Timmy is going to face significant rehabilitation and additional clinical care.
We are raising funds to help cover hospital stays and inpatient and outpatient physical therapy and other expenses that may be incurred. We want Tim to focus on healing, without the added pressure of financial worries. Funds raised will go directly towards things not covered by insurance like specialized PT equipment, therapies, home accommodations, transportation as well as ongoing clinical needs.
The journey ahead will be a long battle. If you know Tim, you know he is a tremendous young man with the strongest work ethic we've ever seen. That determination is already showing and will continue to be a driving force in his recovery.
For those who have asked for a tax-deductible donation option, as of 9/19/2025, Timmy has teamed up with The Thomas E. Smith Foundation (TESF), a non-profit improving lives of those living with spinal cord injuries and paralysis that allows for tax deductible donations. Tim has always been a source of light and kindness to those around him. Now he needs our support more than ever. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a profound difference on his path to healing. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing, spreading the word helps reach more people.
Tim and his family are deeply grateful for your compassion, prayers and support during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you.
