Tim continues to fight an inspiring battle against a "shitty" cancer with the unwavering support of his partner, Candy. But even as they share uplifting messages about their fight for a long future together, they are faced with overwhelming expenses related to Tim's cancer treatment and recovery, even with health insurance. Tim has been enduring a brutal but effective chemotherapy treatment, and the next step is daily radiation at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan--starting December 12 and ending on January 1. Surgery will follow in early 2019. You can imagine the expense of living in Manhattan for 2-3 weeks during the holidays, not to mention meals, travel, etc. They will be there even longer for Tim's surgery and recovery in the spring. Tim forgoes 1/3 of his salary when he goes on short-term disability and Candy has to step away entirely from her own business in order to be his caregiver, so their income plunges just when they need it most.
