On Saturday, April 5th, 2025, my amazing and easily-lovable Dad, Tim Johnston, went home to be with the Lord. If you knew Tim Johnston, well, it was easy to love him. It was also easy shake your head at his Dad jokes and sometimes hard to understand sense of humor! He loved to laugh and was making all of us chuckle right up until his final days. He was so many things to so many people during his 85 years on this earth. He was a friend to everyone he met, a husband to our beautiful Mom Kathy Johnston; a Dad to 4 rambunctious and busy boys; grandpa to 8 grandkids, and great-grandpa to 2 great grandkids. Tim was a skilled fisherman and hunter, loved all kinds of outdoor adventures and travel, and an avid player of all kinds of card games. He was blessed to experience a multitude of careers and endeavors along the way, but most of all, he loved the Lord and served God with everything in him. He would tell you today that his favorite career he ever had was serving in Mexico as a Christian missionary for 20+ years alongside our Mom Kathy. Tim loved the Lord and he loved God's people!

Serving as missionaries for 20+ years Tim & Kathy knew that you didn't do this type of work to become wealthy...quite the opposite. Tim and Kathy worked with the poorest of the poor discipling new Christians, training pastors, hosting church missions groups, building homes, orphanages, camps, and churches all for those who needed it the most. That is a legacy that we are all proud of! But now it's our turn to help and to show Kathy how much we love and support her. My Dad's passing has left my Mom with some sudden end-of-life expenses that need to be paid, and they are not cheap. Dad will be cremated and our hope as a family is to travel to one of his all-time favorite fishing spots in the Sierra Nevada Mountains sometime this coming Summer and lay him to rest. That's what he wanted, and so that's what we will do.
