Tim Giago benefit

Tim Giago, owner/publisher of Native Sun News Today, and original founder of Indian Country Today, Lakota Times and Lakota Journal, has made his journey to the Spirit World. Tim was considered by many the Godfather of Native Journalism. He was instrumental in founding the Native American Journalist Association (NAJA) and was elected its first president. His accolades in the field of journalism are many, and he will be greatly missed.

Tim worked up to the day he died as editor emeritus at Native Sun News Today and did not receive a salary. He continued to write his column Notes from Indian Country and oversaw the everyday operation of Native Sun News Today Publishing. He often used his retirement funds to supplement the company and ensured his employees were paid.
