Tim Fischer’s medical bills to kick cancers butt!

Hi, my name is Irene Fischer-Schneider, and I'm Tim's mom. Tim has been diagnosed with head and neck cancer of unknown primary site, which usually presents as a lump in the neck, which is a sign that cancer has spread to one or several of the lymph nodes in the neck. The origin of the metastasis (cancer spreading from one area to another) is not apparent because there are often no associated symptoms other than the neck mass. The goal of the head and neck surgeon is to find and treat the location of cancer itself and the metastasis (neck lymph nodes). Tim has had the neck tumor removed, and cancer was found. He has also had two more biopsies done, one in his throat and one in the larynx. Because the surgeon could not determine the origin of his cancer, Tim will have to undergo radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Tim has missed one full day of work during his many doctor visits and surgeries at Methodist Hospital and the University of Minnesota otolaryngology-head and neck surgery department. He will be out of work more often due to his radiation and chemotherapy schedule, so he will not receive an entire paycheck. Tim's battle is not just physical and mental but financial as well. Getting through surgeries and treatment without insurance has been difficult for him and his new wife, Molly. Tim has been very positive and hard-working. Today we are starting a Go Fund Me campaign and are seeking the kindness and generosity of family, friends and strangers to support Tim and Molly.
