Tim and I evacuated our beloved Altadena home from the Eaton fire on Tuesday evening, shortly after hearing from a neighbor that the fire had begun and that we should flee for our safety. Having only a few minutes to leave our home and with little to no foresight to grab in what ultimately would be the final moments in our home, we packed the dogs, ourselves, and little more than the clothes on our backs to head to our dear friend’s house.
In the morning, we would learn that nearly the entire community of Altadena and everything we owned was completely lost to the fire.

It is still unclear if our commercial property down the street has survived, as all of the neighboring businesses have been completely burned.
Update: Somehow, some way (firefighters or local vigilantes) appear to have saved the primary structure of our commercial property from burning amongst the wreckage of downtown Altadena. We hope to resume our planned structural improvements, and to be able to use the offices and our surrounding lots (whose contents unfortunately all burned and will need to be cleared) as a resource to those businesses around us who need a space to pop up and continue to serve our local downtown Altadena business community as that area lifts itself up again.
It is extremely hard to ask for help and to lean on our community in our time of need when we feel so many of our fellow Altadenans have it “worse” or deserve everyone’s love and support more. I created this GoFundMe solely because so many of you have reached out asking to help us financially.
I cannot thank everyone enough for the love and support we have received thus far; it is truly staggering and it has been the bright light in all of this that is keeping the air in our lungs and the literal clothes on our backs.
My deepest apologies if we have not reached out, provided updates to those worried about us, or sent our thanks; we are managing a lot at the moment, but we see your love, your tenderness, and it means everything to us right now.
Our community meant everything to us; our community continues to mean everything to us.
