Tim Burrows’ Liver Transplant Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Tim Burrows has finally gotten a new liver! The road here has been a long one, now the journey to recovery is even greater.
Tim received his liver on Wednesday, September 18th. On September 19th, the surgical team suspected a blood clot in the portal vein leading to the liver so they had to take Tim back to surgery. The surgery was successful and the liver began to respond immediately and over the course of the day, Tim’s “numbers” improved. Unfortunately, there was another setback on Friday morning, September 20th. While being brought out of heavy sedation, the medical team discovered that Tim couldn’t move his legs. They did an MRI and found that his spinal cord had suffered a lack of blood flow due to elongated periods of low blood pressure following the first surgery. Tim has a very long recovery ahead of him.
Tammie, Ashley, & Brandon will be traveling back and forth to Charleston for the foreseeable future. Tammie will be staying in Charleston the bulk of recovery time. We ask that you pray for Tim and the family. The expense of housing, food, and medical care is very stressful. Any financial assistance will be greatly appreciated.
