Ich rufe diese Spendenaktion für meine Freundin Katja ins Leben, da ihr Sohn letzten Mai (2024) mit 13 Jahren an Knochenkrebs erkrankt ist. Nach einer eigentlich harmlosen Untersuchung wegen Wadenschmerzen nach einem Fussballspiel, kam völlig unerwartet die Diagnose Knochenkrebs mit einem bösartigen Ewing Sarkom, was natürlich das Leben von heut auf morgen total auf den Kopf gestellt hat. Tim hat seitdem eine Odyssee von unzähligen Untersuchungen, mehrere Punktionen und Entfernen von Metastasen unter Vollnarkose, Chemotherapie, Pet Ct’s und im Oktober dann die Hauptoperation hinter sich. Da wurde ihm der Wadenknochen komplett entfernt, ein künstliches Knie eingesetzt und ca 10cm vom Schienbeinknochen ersetzt. Seitdem geht die Chemo weiter und danach folgt noch Bestrahlung und Chemo in Tablettenform. Ein langer langer Leidensweg für Tim und psychische Belastung der Mutter.

Meine Freundin und Mutter von Tim lebt mit ihm alleine in einer Altbauwohnung im 2. Stock und ist Tag und Nacht bei ihrem Sohn immer pendelnd zwischen Krankenhaus und ein paar wenigen Tagen zu Hause und kann somit nicht arbeiten gehen. Den geliebten Hund von Tim mussten sie auch in Pflege geben und den vermisst er am meisten. Über ein halbes Jahr hat meine Freundin auf einen Platz in der Kinderonkologie in Frankfurt/Main warten müssen, was am nächst gelegensten von uns wäre und musste vorher die ganze Zeit ins ca 130 km entfernte Würzburg fahren. Dadurch sind natürlich höhere Kosten entstanden und das Krankengeld langt vorne und hinten nicht. Zudem sucht sie dringend eine Wohnung im Erdgeschoss oder mit Fahrstuhl, wo dann auch noch Umzugskosten etc. auf Sie zukommen und wahrscheinlich höhere Mietkosten. Alles eine enorme phychische und finanzielle Belastung für die Familie.

Deshalb bitte ich darum Katja und Tim mit einer Spende oder indem ihr diesen Aufruf teilt zu unterstützen. Jede noch so kleine Spende und sei es nur ein Euro hilf der Familie und dafür möchte ich mich schon einmal im voraus ganz herzlich bedanken.

*Das Ewing Sarkom ist ein bösartiger Tumor des Kindes-Jugendalters, der sowohl innerhalb des Knochens, als auch in dem umliegenden Weichgewebe auftreten kann. Die meisten Ewing-Sarkome wachsen und streuen sehr schnell, so dass die Erkrankung ohne eine wirksame Behandlung tödlich verläuft.

I am launching this fundraising campaign for my friend Katja because her son was diagnosed with bone cancer last May (2024) at the age of 13. After an actually harmless examination for calf pain after a football match, he was unexpectedly diagnosed with malignant Ewing's sarcoma bone cancer, which of course turned his life upside down overnight. Since then, Tim has undergone an odyssey of countless examinations, several punctures and removal of metastases under general anaesthetic, chemotherapy, pet Ct's and then the main operation in October. His calf bone was completely removed, an artificial knee inserted and approx. 10cm of the tibia bone replaced. Since then, chemotherapy has continued, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy in tablet form. A long, long ordeal for Tim and psychological stress for his mum.

My friend and Tim's mum lives alone with him in an old flat on the second floor and is with her son day and night, shuttling between hospital and a few days at home, so she can't go to work. They also had to take Tim's beloved dog into care and he misses it the most. My girlfriend had to wait over six months for a place in the paediatric oncology department in Frankfurt/Main, which would have been the closest to us, and had to drive the whole time to Würzburg, about 130 km away. Of course, this has resulted in higher costs and the sickness benefit is not enough. She is also urgently looking for a flat on the ground floor or with a lift, where she will also have to pay for moving costs etc. and probably higher rental costs. All of this is an enormous physical and financial burden for the family.

Therefore I ask you to support Katja and Tim with a donation or by sharing this appeal. Every donation, no matter how small, even if it is only one euro, will help the family and I would like to thank you in advance.

*Ewing's sarcoma is a malignant tumour of childhood and adolescence that can occur both within the bone and in the surrounding soft tissue. Most Ewing's sarcomas grow and spread very quickly, making the disease fatal without effective treatment.
