We’re high school students with Tiles for Hope, a student-led nonprofit that aims to form intergenerational friendships with seniors experiencing neurodegeneration through Mahjong!
Through this work, we were exposed firsthand to Alzheimer's disease, and we began to understand the devastating impact it has on the lives of those afflicted. Rather than some abstract, deadly disease, it became deeply personal to us as we noticed each missed name, each repeated stories, and the sadness upon realizing a memory has slipped away.
Think of your own life - you would be very lucky and rare to say you do not know a single person afflicted with the illness. In fact, 1 in 9 people aged 65 and older lives with Alzheimer’s.
That’s why we’re fundraising for the Alzheimer's Association, an organization leading the fight to end Alzheimer’s through research, early detection, and compassionate care. Their work gives families hope and gives students like us a reason to believe change is possible.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a real impact. Even just a few dollars can help move this mission forward and reach those who need it most.
If you can’t donate right now, sharing this fundraiser is also incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity!
