Tightrope Workshop Phase 1

Do black lives really matter? Does a woman have the right to choose or is abortion an unforgiveable sin? What and/or who is family? Can love transcend race and racism?
In 1950s Harlem a young artist wrestles with whether the price of his human dignity and sense of self is another human life, even as his family grapples with powerful internal problems about to rip their once close-knit family apart.
A Play-With-Music of family drama; a riveting, personal look at who and what we are as a people and a nation.
The TIGHTROPE Project is a cultural creative initiative that probes the very essence of our humanity even as it reminds the country that it still needs to ownit’s checkered past, while striving to live up to its founding promise of “promoting the general welfare...with liberty and justice for all.”
We start with the Fall 2018 Workshops to finalize the production script for a 2019 Showcase Production. Our initial fundraising starts now, phase one runs through
30 November 2018.
Phase One: Raise $10,000.00 for the Workshops (being graciously hosted by the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem) starting 20 September 2018.

$3,600 for crew such as director, stage manager, and pianist.
$4,200 for actors and musicians
$2,200 for related costs (ie. travel and web design)
