Tighes Hill native bee hive
Donation protected
The Terrace Community Garden in Tighes Hill is keen to get a hive of stingless native bees in spring 2024. The wild hive of European bees that lived here were killed due to the varroa mite. The native bees are mite resistant and will be great pollinators. They don't produce enough honey for humans - just enough to get the hive thru the hard times. The cost is about $350 for bees, hive and stand. Please make a donation to help our garden grow.
