Hi everyone!
This will probably feel like deja vu and unfortunately it’s because we’ve been here before. That’s exactly why Tiffany did not want to ask anyone for any more help. So as the sister, I am doing it for her.
As most of you know, in September 2024, she had a bilateral TMJ replacement. Over the past year she’s been going to countless hours of appointments for her recovery and was within months of having braces off and everything done. Within the last month, her hardware from her surgery broke causing a nonunion (basically the top of her jaw is not fusing back to her skull on the side that the hardware broke). So this Monday she will be going into the major portion of the surgery again after she had one a couple days ago to fix the broken hardware. The manufacturers of the hardware are at fault and not willing to assist financially. It is complicating logistical components with paid leave from work and insurance assistance for her and Elliott as well.
She may not want to ask for help but I will. Tiffany and Elliott are genuinely the most selfless people I’ve ever met. They have given a place for my husband and I to stay for almost a year now after a difficult time we were experiencing and needed a rest from life. They opened their home up to kids in the foster system. Tiffany has been a nurse for 13 years. Anyone can be a nurse, but not like she does it. She deeply truly emotionally invests in every single patient, which if you’ve ever worked in the field or similar field, you know how exhausting that can be. Elliott prioritizes absolutely everyone over himself and will literally stop what he’s doing to go help someone. I can see they’re tired and I’ve watched them drop everything day after day to do things for everyone in their life around them.
I could go on but I guess my point is you know those sorts of people that something bad happens to and you just know that either karma doesn’t exist or that it just somehow took the day off? They’re those people. I truly just want to try to give them a fraction of what they’ve given to my husband and I and to everyone else. They deserve to feel the love and support they give to everyone else every single day.
All that being said obviously there is an emotional and physical toll this is taking but the most immediate stressor is financing the surgery and mitigating the loss of income as she recovers.
The short term amount they need immediately is $8,000 for the surgery on Monday.
Anything would be so appreciated and even if you can’t donate we totally understand - just a share would be great!
