Tiffany Niebergall- Kidney Transplant in Edmonton
Donation protected
Tiffany lives in Whitewood, Saskatchewan with her husband, Shane, and their 6 year old daughter. Tiffany is a stay at home mom and Shane has his own trucking company. She devotes her entire life to her family and is an incredible mother, wife, cousin, sister, daughter, granddaughter, niece and aunty. Tiffany continuously amazes many in all she does despite her medical issues.
Tiffany was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was only 11 years old. She has faced many medical hurdles over the years and has persevered through it all with great strength and determination. Tiffany was then diagnosed Chronic Kidney Disease and found out she was in complete kidney failure in July 2017 at only 33 years old. On July 21st, she had her first dialysis treatment. For the next 6 months she was driving 1-2 hours to Regina and/or Yorkton 3 or more times a week for dialysis treatments and various other appointments. At the end of December 2017 Tiffany was able to begin doing her dialysis treatments at home. She still had to attend many appointments, procedures and surgeries. She is on many medications and has to hook up to her dialysis machine for 9 hours every single night. In October 2018 Tiffany was officially put on the list for both a kidney and pancreas transplant.
Today (March 13, 2019) Tiffany received the life changing call she's been waiting for. She is headed to Edmonton, Alberta for a kidney and pancreas transplant. Once she leaves the hospital she will need to remain in Edmonton for an additional 8 weeks.
The drive from Whitewood to Edmonton is almost 10 hours. Over the next several months there will be several trips back and forth for her family to be by her side through the procedure and recovery. They will also need to take time away from work and find a place to stay while in Edmonton. Understandably that will quickly become very costly. This will be a stressful time for Tiffany and her family, financial support would relieve a large burden from their shoulders.
On behalf of Tiffany and her entire family, thank you in advance for any help you can provide. Positive thoughts, prayers and well wishes are greatly appreciated. I will provide updates on this page as Tiffany's journey continues.
