Tiff Takes Miss New York USA
Who:
Hi, my name is Tiffani Singleton, and I am competing for the title of Miss New York USA 2022!
Confidence on and off the stage, and a desire to affect worldwide change are just two examples of how my life has been impacted by the Miss USA Organization.
Placing in the Top 21 at last year's Miss NY USA competition was a definite highlight of my first pageant experience. Yet, the real crowning glory of pageantry has been developing a social advocacy platform to expand during my reign as Miss NY USA.
Why:
One of the radical revelations I've had since beginning therapy this past year has surrounded this idea: “The system may have failed you, but you yourself are not a failure.”
Access to tools like psychotherapy, self-esteem workshops, and IEP evaluations in low-income areas can transform the trajectory of a child's life. However, due to systemic roadblocks, and cultural stigmas surrounding mental health, there are major inequities in the resources available for children in these communities.
More than anything, I want to give children growing up in communities similar to those I grew up in, the tools to re-write their narrative and defy the odds. With an initiative I have created called, “Re-write It”, I will advocate for greater access to mental health resources for children living in communities affected by poverty.
You and Me:
As I dedicate myself to developing the “Re-write It” initiative, while also training for the onstage competition, I would love the financial support of my family and friends to help cover a few of the overhead costs associated with competing for a state title.
These expenses include:
Sponsorship Fee: $1295
Registration Fee: $295
Headshots: $225
Alterations: $100
In Conclusion:
We are so much more than our current circumstances, and I want every child facing hardship to know that. I deeply appreciate your support (financial and otherwise) as I embark on this exciting journey! Xoxo - Tiffani
