Tiff Strong 's Fight Against Cancer

On January 11, 2016, my life as I knew would be changed forever. I recieved a phone call from my doctor informing me that I was diagnosed with what we thought at the time was stage 0 or 1 Breast Cancer.  I had no feeling or emotion because now I had come face to face with the same horrorible disease that took my Aunt away from me 11 years ago. I asked the doctor a billion questions, what stage, how aggressive, what will I have to do? But, I was told that they wouldn't know anything until I had surgery and they receive my path report and that I needed to meet with my team of doctors that same week!

At that point, I knew I had to fight if I wanted to live, so my attitude was "fight now, cry later!"  When I met with my team of doctors, the original goal was to only do radiation treatments. However, after I had my partial masectomy, I found out that my cancer had actually spread to 3 of my lymphnodes and that what we thought was stage 0 or 1 cancer was changed to stage 2 this was now a gamechanger because now I would have to do Chemotherapy and Radiaton. My whole world was crushed, not because of the diagnois,  but because I learned that Chemotherapy pushes you into menopause and messes up your fertility. I'm not even in my 40's yet.  I don't have kids and now my chances of having any at all are slim.  I had to have another surgery where the doctor took 33 of my lymphnodes because they weren't sure how far my cancer had spread. They wanted to be safe and not sorry. I am now at high risk of developing lymphedema. I went from never having surgery a day in my life to having 4 different surgeries throughout this journey.

I went from going to the doctor once or twice a year to 4 to 5 times a week sometimes up to 3 times a day. I try to keep my life as normal as possible. I continued to work 3 jobs and completed my masters degree while conquering this difficult journey! I am now a year and a half cancer free!!!! This fight showed me to value and cherish every moment in life! I can now say that if I can beat cancer, I conquer anything! I am strong, healthy and truly weathered the "STORM!!

But, with all of these appointments and treatments come bills and they are coming in fast. The emotional and financial burden of surviving breast cancer is a challange, espcially to someone who is a young cancer patient.  (Only 2% of breast cancer patients are under 30) Anyone who knows me, knows that I let my pride get the best of me and I hate to ask people for anything. I generally try to figure things out on my own. But right now, times are hard and I need support more than ever. This is where you and this fund come in. The medical bills continue to add up and I am reaching out to my family and friends to help in any way possible. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and it will be a tremendous help to me.

A few examples of what the funds  raised through this site would be used for are medical bills pertaining to :
4 surgeries
5 months of chemotherapy
28 days of radiation
multiple doctors visits for follow ups
CT Scans
MRI's
Hollistic Care (which is not covered by Insurance companies)

I'm Blessed To Be Able To Say I Walked Into 2017 Cancer Free, I Finished All My Treatments And I Almost Finished With My Physical Therapy. However, There Are Still Numerous Series Of Follow Up Appointments As I Continue This Journey To Try To Remain Cancer Free!!!

To All Who Have Reached Out Or Supported In Anyway, I Thank You From The Bottom Of My Heart!!!! Thank You For Taking The Time To Read My Story!
