Hello, My name is Tierra Porter and I am a creative cross-disciplinary artist living and working in Ireland. I obtained my degree from the Lir academy in 2023 for acting. Since graduating, I have been working and competing at a top level within the Professional Arts sector. I’ve performed in the Abbey National Theatre, in the Gate Theatre , and collaborated with innovative theatre companies in the Irish Industry (Hatch , LemonSoap, Once Off Productions, Project Arts Centre, The Mermaid Arts Center, Graffiti, The Ark,) I entered Ireland under a Stamp 2 Visa and progressed to a Stamp 1G . Due to an unclear pathway in legal residence for Freelance artists , my permission to remain in the country has lapsed while I await a response from the Domestic Residency Permission department.This leaves me unable to work and forfeiting my application if I leave the country. I am now obtaining legal support and upon consulting with the solicitor, I am looking to move forward with applying to change permission to remain in the country. She has agreed to take my case as I have more than enough evidence to support my ability to support myself if granted permission . I am requesting financial support to pay this solicitor (€2108) to submit my application. Any excess funds raised will be retained should the need arise for further legal fees. If not, excess funds will be donated to the Friends of the Lir Student Resilience Fund aimed at international students to help support them with financial costs through their time in the Lir . Any support you can contribute is greatly appreciated, please help me to share this as I am looking to speak with other artists who may be in a similar situation.
