Tia's Get On The Bus Fund
Donation protected
Hi! I'm Tia Goldberg a senior at Cardinal Newman High School. At Cardinal Newman we are given the opportunity to connect with our community and beyond through our Senior Service Project (CBSL: Community Based Service Learning). For my service project I will be focusing on the Restorative Justice System by teaming up with the Get On The Bus organization where we will be taking children to see their parents in prison.
I am raising money for the trip which will take place mid-May. All proceeds will go towards the necessities needed to fund the trip and make it possible such as transportation, food, activities, games, stay-connected goodie bags, blankets, bags for the children for the bus ride there and back, and much more. In order to get everything needed and done before the trip, I would appreciate all funds to be donated before the end of April.
I first established my project the beginning of my junior year and have been working on it nonstop since then. Having been able to attend the Get On The Bus trip last year I was firsthandedly able to see the joy and happiness that comes out of this program and how appreciative the children are to be able to be given the opportunity to see their loved ones. Ultimately, this program means so much to me because not only has it opened my eyes to the marginization that families who have a loved one incarcerated face, but it has also guided me towards identifying and confirming my future career in law.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and any donation is much appreciated. Thank you very much.
