Tianna's Fight

Hello, my name is Christie Pace and I am the proud auntie of Tianna Angel Deleon. On September 18th, 2021 we were told by medical professionals that Tianna has been diagnosed with Cancer, specifically Wilms Tumour Stage 4. From what I have learned, this is a type of Kidney Cancer. Tianna's right Kidney is overrun with the disease and we have found out that it is also in her liver and thyroid (which the Doctors are very concerned about). Spots have also be found on her spine and bones.

 

Tianna is young and just starting her adult life at 20 years old. It has been heartbreaking for Tianna and her parents to find out that she has cancer in so much of her body. With this new realization, Tianna has had to have some very big discussions for her future. She has decided to harvest and save her eggs. This was no small decision, and something she has thought long and hard about. As a young woman, she would like to know that she will have the option to have a child/ children in her future. This decision to harvest her eggs has caused her unexpected anguish, as the procedures and medications are not covered by our current medical care. The cost for this is thousands of dollars. In addition to these procedures, she is also not covered for other medical treatments that will help boost her rate of survival.

 

Both of her parents have used up much of their employment resources including sick time and leave. They are now looking at a long period for treatment, at a minimum of 46 weeks. During this time, there will be several treatments each week. For Tianna's family, this incurs great costs. There will be a loss of wages, cost of parking, special medical supplies and even special dental care. In the coming months, the chemotherapy, radiation therapy and medications will no doubt take a toll on her body.

 

No one talks about the extra costs that come when your loved one gets cancer and has to fight for their life.

 

In all of this, I am creating this GoFundMe account as a way to help Tianna in her fight against cancer. This is to give her all the opportunities to have the best care possible. Tianna has never spent a day in the hospital in her entire young life. It has been devastating to find out she has a long battle ahead of her, though we as her family remain hopeful.
