My sister Thu was walking home from her shift at work when she was struck by a white truck on the crosswalk in front of our townhome. Police estimate she was flung nearly 20ft by the impact. This evil person fled the scene and we only know the vehicle description from witness accounts and a nearby security camera. Police are still investigating to try to get a license plate and make an arrest. She received lacerations to her face and back of her head, broke 6 ribs and her pelvis, and several organs damaged. We fear the worst that even if we find them, they may have no insurance. With no insurance, the financial burden of emergency bills fall heavily on our family.

My sister moved to the US from Vietnam in August 2022 and has worked 10+ hours a day, 6 days a week to bring her dog from Vietnam and to make a better life for herself here. She doesn't know English yet but was very optimistic about her future here. She is always smiling and trying her best to make everyone around her happy.
