Thunderbird Rotary sponsors afforestation!
Imagine a village whose name literally means the “Forest of Happiness.” That village is the smart village of Anandwan in India. This village was founded in 1949 to create a safe space for leprosy patients who were ostracised by society and left homeless. Over the years, this ngo transformed into a welcome abode for differently-abled members of the society.
One of the many projects undertaken by the NGO is afforestation. the target is to plant a million trees by 2030, reach 1666 villages in the nearby regions, in the state of Maharashtra in the western region of India.
This fundraiser aims to plant 21k trees ( celebrating 2021 after the rough year of 2020). Each tree costs a mere $2. This 4@ will include excavation costs, plant seeds cost, compost, husk, poles, barbed wire, labour charges. You can bring a tree to life in $2!
Please help us make the world a better place and someday when you visit this village, 21,000 trees dedicated to Thunderbird Rotary club will be there to welcome you!
