Thumper getting back on his feet

"Thumper needs our help": Long time Captain, part of the fabric of Lahaina, and 40+ year member of Lahaina Yacht Club had a fall about 2 months ago. He is now finally out of the hospital and looking to get back on his feet. In this cycle, he lost his apartment, exhausted his savings, lost some mobility, and now has need for physical therapy. While our caregiver experts have ensured his social security, medicare, and medicade assistance is understood, these functions will not cover restarting costs nor any level of comfort housing-wise.

Myself (Mike Lodato), my wife Laura, Jeff Kaiser, Tracy McIntyre, and Bobby Powers have been focused on creating a stable base of housing and rehabilitation over the next 3 months. By that time, longer-term and more affordable options exist but take an application and waiting periods. We have found temporary housing for the very short term (thank you Bobby Powers), and need to find a mid-range solution shortly. This will require first and last month's rent, some light care assistance to keep things flowing, and basic needs.  This same cycle repeats once get is in his long term spot.

Armed with his Irish blood (John McCarthy) and the spirit of Thumper’s favorite team, Norte Dame, he is fighting his way back.  He just spent Sunday at LYC knocking back iced tea, his new favorite.
