Wheelchair minivan for Brayden
Donation protected
We are raising funds to help provide a handicapped minivan to transport our 10-yr old son, Brayden. We currently have a 2002 handicapped minivan that needs to be replaced, not just because of the multiple repairs that occur from a 14-year-old van, but also because the wheelchair lift is not working reliably and the style of lift that we have requires him to still be lifted from his power chair into the van seat and then the wheelchair can be loaded into the lift area.
Brayden can use a walker to walk shorter distances, but needs his power chair to function independently for longer distances & durations. As Brayden continues to grow and get older, it is becoming less possible for us to safely lift him into the van seat.
We are working with Superior Van & Mobility to locate a late model used van, but with a new lift conversion so that it can last a long as possible. However, these still run approximately $45,000-50,000. We are looking at a 2015 Chrysler Town & Country, unless a 2014/2015 Honda Odyssey becomes available.
With my husband being the main provider in our family and my only being able to work part-time to also allow me time to take Brayden to his multiple weekly therapy appointments and various doctor appointments, this is simply not in our budget and we're hoping you will consider helping us, along with helping to spread the word!
