Topsail Track Repair

Unfortunately, tight budgets in Pender County Schools prevent and delay the repair of athletic facilities. The Topsail Track and Field complex needs a complete overhaul and it’s been in the budget for years but continues to be pushed aside due to other school priorities that suddenly arise. The team has not hosted home meets in over 2 years due to the conditions of the track.  As a Hampstead resident, volunteer assistant track/cross country coach at Topsail and a parent of an athlete in these programs, I see the affects these conditions have on the athletes in their daily training.
     The future of Topsail Track & Cross Country looks very promising. This past Fall, the women were victorious in capturing the 3A/4A Mid Eastern Conference and 3A East Region XC Championship Titles for the first time in Topsail history.  The men's XC team placed 5th and 9th respectively. In addition, the Pirates have some of the Top Ranked Conference, Region and State athletes in Track and Field. These athletes need and deserve a place to train without dodging potholes and uneven surfaces.
     Our goal is to give these athletes a new track for the 2018-2019 school year and to host a HOME track meet. To meet this goal, the funds must be raised by July 1st to guarantee a summer install.

     All funds collected will go directly to the Topsail Track and Field Association 501(c)3 NONPROFIT account, which will then be presented as a donation to the Pender County Board of Education  to be used for track repairs/track equipment as needed. Offline donations can also be made.
