My Mothers Last Wish
Donation protected
My best friend, my mother, an Army veteran has stage four cancer and is currently in hospice care. She suffers everyday with constant pain and mounting bills, including a $30,000 lien on her house. She is dying. While I cannot save my mother or take her pain away, I would love to grant one of her remaining wishes in saving her house. Unfortunately, I do not have the money on my own to help her and humbly seek your assistance to make this dream come true.
Background:
My mother has been an amazing figure in my life, overcoming many obstacles throughout. In 2004, my mother lost her best friend, my father, after he suffered from a massive heart attack. She was left to raise two young teenage boys alone. She did so wonderfully, through sacrifice and sheer determination. Ten years later, she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. At the time, the cancer had already spread to every major organ in her body with the exception of her brain. She was given six months to live without chemotherapy treatment and two years to live with chemotherapy.
Unfortunately, the chemotherapy is not working for my mother. Her cancer has continued to grow and spread. Further, the medications she takes have shut down her digestive system and blocked her colon. She cannot eat without vomiting or go to the bathroom without the assistance of medical devices. She lives with a tube in her nose and IVs in her arm, and above all, constant abdominal pain. My mother is dying before my eyes. It is absolutely the hardest thing in the world to watch as there is nothing I can do to help her or take the pain away.
My mother suffers every day; however, the only thing she asks for from me is that I keep the house for which she worked so hard. Sadly, due to her mounting medical expenses and financial difficulties, there is currently a $30,000 lien against the house. I wish I could resolve the lien myself, but I do not have the funds to do so. In between working and raising my twins, money is very tight. I am very overwhelmed with thoughts of taking on this mortgage, medical bills, and funeral expenses upon her passing. As such, I am swallowing my pride and asking for help. I feel like I am drowning and there is nothing I can do but ask for your assistance. Please help me keep my promise to my mom and fulfill her wish, as she has always fulfilled mine.
