Hi guys! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my fundraiser for "Thru" the film I wrote and will be directing. I'd love for you to watch my video for more information, but if you can't survive my cringe, I'll sum it up for you. Filmmaking = money; Michelle's pockets = no money. I'm really looking to up my game up in my final production for my diploma by renting some nice equipment, locations and feeding my cast and crew something delicious and filling. I would very much appreciate your help, even if it's small.

 

I wrote this script last year and it's become my baby. I am quite proud of the work I've done over the past two years, and I believe this film will showcase everything I have learned. Not only will it show off my skills, but those of my talented cast and crew.

 

Thru is a short comedic film following Theo (Lord Christopher Lewis Dunston), the main character who is a struggling comedian working at a fast-food restaurant called "Dirty Dave's Dogs and More." We watch poor Theo suffer throughout the day in the most hilarious way possible. Along for the ride are other amazing characters, his boss Regina (Silvia Schwarz), his love interest Heather (Sabine Heinen) and many more, played by David Cassel, Tristan Bumm, Nico Birnbaum, Jonas Breitstadt, Sascha Wolf and Femi Whitehead.

Hey, my name is Michelle - you’re probably wondering how I got here and why I’m using this cheesy intro.

After six years in the military and soul searching, I’ve decided to change paths completely and pursue a career in film, bringing me to the bustling, beautiful capital city of Germany, Berlin!

The past two years, I’ve learned I’m not that bad at filmmaking! I’m a kick-ass director, an organized producer, and a decent screenwriter. Twenty-six years of Asian parenting and military discipline is to blame, but I’ll save that for my therapist.

PLUS People like me, or they’re really good at pretending.

Here’s some snippets of my work:

Now, I’m back here asking for your help. My final film for my diploma is around the corner and Im just a poor girl, nobody, loves me
. - She’s just a poor girl from a poor family.
 - All jokes aside, I really want to have a good production and filmmaking, unfortunately, requires a bit of money. 
That’s where you come in! I hate that line. Can we cut it?


 

My final film is a dark comedy short centering around Theo - a struggling comedian working at a fast-food restaurant played by Chris, my main actor.
 We also have a great cast of supporting actors, Sabine playing Heather, the love interest. Silvia, the annoying boss Regina. A crew of kidnappers, a tattoo artist, a tattoo client, and even a Karen!
