It is with deep sadness and regret our family must announce Liana’s recent passing on April 22nd, 2022.
What Liana was, is, and will continue to be CANNOT be expressed in words or list of accomplishments (there are far too many). In this time, however, we are inspired to showcase her life and what she represented to those who knew and have been impacted by her.
To have experienced Liana was to bear witness to unadulterated passion & grit. Many things stoked her fire. A Queen of all trades--She found her way around this world exploring its cultures, landmarks, & languages and earned her place in industries including film (production & acting), modeling, tech, foraging and weapon work.
Liana was hopeful for the world. Since childhood, enthralled with it, particularly by the people in it. Their nuances, idiosyncrasies and behaviors –details that make us different, yet mirror our oneness in this human existence. She saw the beauty & potential in humanity and was determined to leave an imprint.
In the flesh, Liana barely scratched the surface of everything that she is destined to be. Though untimely, it has now become an honor and privilege to carry her legacy forward, acting as curators of her art and all that Liana Alicia is -- strength, perseverance, creativity, intelligence, wit -- all of her gifts still can be a source of inspiration & beacon of hope for this world.
For those who would like to attend and/or support, there will be an event May 27th in Decatur, GA --not only to celebrate Liana’s evolution along her journey, but to celebrate life in with memories, food, music and fellowship. ALL are welcome.
With May also being Lupus Awareness Month, we are taking this as an opportunity to spread awareness on the disease & challenges faced by those diagnosed and their family members. Lupus had an immense impact on Liana and was prioritized in many of her decisions - professional, private, and medical - the latter of which she suffered tremendously from in the wake of covid.
Our mission now, is to continue the legacy Liana began. In her name we will champion for human rights across the board but particularly shining light on impeccable black women establishing their agency in all spaces.
We will to encourage & inspire the next generation of Lianas who can change the world given the opportunity and support.
Through us all, Liana lives.
Our final promises to Liana are that we:
1. Do with her remains what she would have done in life: travel and leave her presence across this world.
Our tentative list of trips is:
Palisades Park, NJ
Glacier National Park, Montana
Kaieteur National Park, Guyana
Paris, France
Pyramid of Giza, Egypt
Seoul, South Korea
Taj Mahal, India.
2. Commemorate her life by publishing her art-- scripts, short stories, & photography while providing an avenue for young creatives to showcase their work. We want to promote camaraderie, collaboration, and networking across the film, tech, modeling & acting spaces.
3. Research & advocate for comprehensive health education & accessibility—swift reform is needed to mitigate the decades of abuse and neglect that have occurred in communities dismissed because of financial, gender, racial, and social bias. The time is NOW—these communities need transformative policy, not rhetoric. We’re hell-bent on Lupus awareness and medical rights for ALL citizens.
If you support Liana please help us fulfill these goals by: SHARING/donating to the GoFundMe, following her Instagram and inviting 5 persons to do so, and joining her email list so we can keep you up to date with our progress.

It was a long time ago.
I have almost forgotten my dream.
But it was there then,
In front of me,
Bright like a sun—
My dream.
Break through the wall!
Find my dream!
Help me to shatter this darkness,
To smash this night,
To break this shadow
Into a thousand lights of sun,
Into a thousand whirling dreams
Of sun!
