ThriveNow: Unlocking a thriving future for young learners
Donation protected
Today, we operate in a linear education system. By secondary school, we're often taught that the "right path" means passing exams, going to university, and securing a lifelong "good job."
But what happens if:
- AI has replaced the job we specifically trained for?
- There is another economic recession?
- There is another global pandemic?
- Global warming has created a decline in an industry
Hi, my name is Kimberley Cooper, co-founder of ThriveNow, a proactive, conscious, social impact community.
We focus on developing an updated education system to equip young learners with the skillset to confront 21st century challenges in mentally and emotionally empowering and healthy ways.
My story starts with following the “right path”. Even though it left me feeling lost and confused; I thought, eventually, things would click into place and I would feel fully prepared for adulthood.
I realised later that the education that I received didn't actually prepare me effectively, and I was missing key real-life skills, such as: managing workloads, regulating my emotions, financial literacy, or even basic DIY. It did not prepare me for the current global challenges that young learners are up against, especially with the entrance of new technologies, unforeseen health risks, and climate changes and challenges.
The world is evolving much more quickly than ever before!
Unfortunately, the truth is the current education system frankly supports students for a world as it was, not as it is now, nor as it will be, despite the brilliant efforts of our creative teachers and leaders. And now, having had my own three beautiful children, I want to see their education actually meeting their needs. I want it to be a place designed to nurture them and to foster a deeper understanding of themselves, how they relate to others, and how they can design a better world into being.
Instead of squeezing us all into a single mould education system of what is ‘easy to manage’, we need a system that truly embraces and celebrates our human capacity.
This new approach must equip us with the knowledge, skills, values and aptitudes to not only survive the economic system and the changes and challenges of the 21st century.
It should prepare us to thrive and flourish in spite of these challenges and come up with solutions that positively affect future generations too.
THE SOLUTION
Our solution is ThriveNow.
ThriveNow was born from my journey as a passionate teacher in both conventional and progressive schools in the UK, my in-depth research through my Masters in Education and consequent journal publications, my work in my consultancy, Holistic Learning, and most influentially, my experience as a mother of three.
With the support of a dedicated team, we've already developed the blueprint for this thriving educational model, built on four key pillars: inquiry-based pedagogy , an enriching curriculum , multi-modal formative assessment , and all underpinned with a supportive community , based on relational practice. Together, these elements create a holistic approach to education that nurtures academic, personal and societal growth.
As a long-time teacher and learner, who couldn’t go back and explain the system to my younger self, I know ThriveNow can make an impact on the next generation.
The 4 pillars focus on developing emotional intelligence and executive functioning 21st century skills such as: positive self-regard, empathy, collaboration, digital literacy, leadership, and divergent and critical thinking skills. It also empowers young learners to engage actively in their education, enabling them to contribute to the changes that will shape their future as adults, enabling them to tackle: the mental health crisis, climate and economic crisis, and meet the demands of the digital age's rapid evolution.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP:
We need your help to turn our vision into reality by the 2025/2026 academic year!
At that point, we plan to have all 4 pillars readily available as an openly sourced, online hub to be used/adapted in your schools, learning communities, homes, or businesses to extend support from / with: policies, timetables, strategies, business plans, outreach programmes, curricular, pedagogical coaching, resources, consultants, specialist educational PR and marketing resources, accounts and administration.
For the initial phase of access, we will develop data on its efficacy ensuring measurable impact. This strategy will enable us to create a tested, meaningful learning experience that can scale and serve the community (you!), ensuring every young learner benefits as we grow.
At the heart of what we do, we believe that every single child and young person is entitled to an enriching empowering education that gives them not only a set of qualifications but the very best in what is available in education, without socio economic barriers to entry.
That's where your invaluable and generous help comes in...
With £40,000: We can finish developing and completing the 4 pillars for this upcoming school year.
With £80,000: We can begin to grow the infrastructure and develop the online hub, funding research embedded within community and business needs and incorporate this into the 4 pillars open source offering.
With £150,000: We can develop the infrastructure to distribute and spread this model of education so it can reach far and wide to anyone who needs it.
With £250,000: We can effectively establish our four pillars, hire essential staff to grow and scale, and extend the 4 pillars to include consultants in specialist fields. This will enable us to collaborate with the Department for Education, to integrate ThriveNow into mainstream education as we grow and scale.
Your support goes beyond a simple donation, it is an investment in all of our shared futures.
We are deeply grateful for every donation we receive, and your generosity truly means so much for us. To help us achieve our goal for the upcoming school year, we kindly encourage a minimum donation of £20.
Donate today and be part of a thriving and inclusive community that will impact generations to come!
