Family, Friends and Supporters
In July, a bunch of middle aged (mostly very unfit) mates are attempting to scale three of the highest mountains in the UK - the 3 Peaks challenge.
We’re doing this for a dear friend, one of life’s very best people, and her family who received some devastating news less than a year ago. She was diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).
If, like us, you knew little about this disease - then you won’t be aware of how life impacting it is. MSA is a rare, progressive neurological disorder that affects multiple systems in the body, causing devastating changes to movement, balance, and basic bodily functions. It is highly aggressive and there is no known cure.
This news profoundly affected us all, and compelled us to rally together in support and strength against on of the biggest challenges a family could face. We hope to raise as much as possible with support from friends, family, businesses and anyone who can imagine how such news might impact them and those close to them.
By kindly donating, you will be:
- Supporting our friend and her family in adjusting to their new life
- Helping to fund critical research to better understand MSA
- Raising awareness about this rare disease
- Improving care and support services for MSA patients
We hope to share some updates on our own journey, which (for most) will literally be couch to mountain, along with the main challenge itself. Thank you for your compassion and generosity. Together, we can support an incredibly brave family, and bring hope to those affected by MSA.
Pleased to confirm we have the support of Hire Tools & Sales on this challenge.
