in 2019 we received some earth shattering news, that my darling daddy had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia.

This devastating news could not prepare us for the next six years of ups/downs and everything between that we have been experiencing.

To see my father, my hero and a living legend, go through this horrible life changing diagnosis has shook our family to the core. Every day is a battle for both him and us.

Dementia affects the whole family and makes people grieve the life that once was and will never be again. It is cruel and unfair.

Due to living in Norfolk, it is difficult for myself and my sister living down south to visit as much as we would like to, meaning that my mum is alone in caring for dad and his ever changing needs, daily!

Mum is no longer alone, she has Amy, the admiral nurse assigned to my parents by Dementia UK.

Having this support has been so wonderful and has helped take some of those negative thoughts and worries away.

In order to raise money for Dementia uk & in honour of my dad, Roy; I will be completing the Three peaks challenge!

This challenge is not for the faint hearted and requires me to climb three mountains, Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Snowdonia (Wales).

These climbs will begin on Friday 12th September 2025

and will finish on Sunday 14th September, 2025.

Anyone who knows dad will know he is a fun, happy, cool and caring individual, but Dementia has started taking away parts of him.
