Help Our Tripod Dog Walk Without Pain Again
This is one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to ask.
Our dog, Loki, is a tripod—he already lost one leg, yet somehow never lost his joy. Even with that challenge, Loki still tries to run, still greets us with a wagging tail, still chooses love every single day.
He was rescued by strangers and taken into the Santa Fe Animal Shelter unable to move his back legs. Unfortunately, the amazing doctors there could only save one of his hind legs. Without a stranger's help and the staff at Santa Fe Animal Shelter, Loki would be lost.
Now, he is facing another devastating obstacle.
Loki has been diagnosed with a severe hip condition that causes constant pain. Because he only has three legs, this hip is doing far more work than it was ever meant to—and it’s failing. Watching him struggle to stand, walk, or get comfortable has been heartbreaking.
The only chance for a pain-free life is hip replacement surgery. This surgery is specialized and only available out of state, which means not only the medical cost, but also travel, lodging, and intensive recovery care.
We are doing everything we can, but we can’t do this alone.
The funds raised will go toward:
- Hip replacement surgery
- Travel to veterinary surgical center in Colorado
- Medications, rehabilitation, and post-op care
Loki has already overcome so much. He didn’t give up after losing a leg—and we refuse to give up on him now. All we want is to see him walk without pain, rest comfortably, and enjoy the life he deserves.
If you’re able to donate, please know that every single dollar matters. If you can’t, sharing this fundraiser is just as powerful.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping our tripod dog fight for a future without pain.
With endless gratitude,
Liz
