Hi, my name is Marcella, and this is Champion. My husband and I are raising funds to help cover the cost of a prosthetic leg so he can live without pain and enjoy life the way every dog deserves.
Champion is a 5-year-old dog who survived being shot during a police operation in Brazil, which led to the amputation of his front right leg. We adopted him in September 2021, right after he was discharged from the hospital, and he has been our forever dog ever since.
We now live in the Netherlands, and despite everything he’s been through, Champion is an incredibly loving, resilient, and happy dog. He loves being outdoors and does his best to run and play like any other dog.
Unfortunately, living on three legs has started to take a toll on Champion’s body. He is putting too much strain on his remaining front leg and has begun to experience pain when walking. He has calcium formations around his joints, which further affect his mobility. While he is already attending physical therapy, he will need surgery and a prosthetic leg to better support his body and improve his long-term mobility.
A prosthetic leg would be truly life-changing for Champion, helping to:
- Reduce pain and strain on his remaining legs;
- Prevent future joint and spinal problems;
- Allow him to walk, run, and play more comfortably;
- Improve his overall quality of life.
After researching specialised providers, we're getting his prosthetic through 3D Pets Prosthetics, a company experienced in custom prosthetics for animals.
We created this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of Champion’s surgery and prosthetic leg. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward helping him live a more comfortable and active life.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or sending Champion some love is already a huge help.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Champion’s story and for helping us give him the life he deserves.
With gratitude,
Champion & Family.
