Thrashers Swimming seeking LED Pacing System
Donation protected
Thrashers Swimming is seeking funding to purchase the Lumalanes Swim Training System. Thrashers is a USA Swimming approved club team that is based out of Horseheads, NY. We are a 301 (c) (3) non-profit organization that has just over 100 swimmers training with us, ages 6-21. We have had several swimmers who have made it to the Junior National level. We just had one young lady conclude her career at DI Bowling Green, we have two more ladies going to DI Bucknell and University at Buffalo, and last year we had our first female swimmer go on to become the National Champion at DIII Williams in the 400 Individual Medley! We would like to add this system to our training to help get our athletes to the Senior National level and beyond. Olympic Trials anyone?
The initial cost for the system is $5500, which includes the control box and two LED light strips which allows training for up to 12 swimmers at a time. The lights are placed on the bottom of the pool and can be set at specific paces for the swimmers to follow, it provides instant feedback in their training; if they are keeping up with the light they are on pace, if not they are swimming behind pace. It can be set at paces of world record swims so the kids can experience what it is like to race an elite athlete. The system is completely portable so when we want to do some training off-site with our satellite clubs we can bring it along. A link to the system is provided here: https://www.lumalanes.com/
We are hoping to secure the funding for our 2019 summer season and we need your help! Every little bit would keep us moving forward, at "pace" you might say, towards our goal.
Thank you for considering helping out a group of fantastic kids who have that dream of Olympic glory bouncing around in their heads as they sleep!
